Honda Civic IV (1988–1991) – Electrical & Ignition System

The electrical and ignition system of the Honda Civic IV (EF/ED, 1988–1991) plays a crucial role in engine stability, fuel efficiency and reliable cold starts. After more than 30 years, components such as the distributor cap, ignition wires, spark plugs and distributor bearings commonly show wear. Honda OEM Distributor Cap

The Honda OEM distributor cap ensures precise spark distribution across all cylinders. A worn or cracked cap may cause misfires, hesitation, weak idle or difficulty starting in humid conditions. For EF-generation engines, replacing the cap is one of the most effective ways to restore clean ignition.

NGK Ignition Wires & NGK/Denso Spark Plugs

The Honda OEM intake air temperature sensor (IAT) provides the ECU with accurate temperature data. Faulty readings can cause an overly rich/lean mixture, poor cold starts, increased fuel consumption or unstable idle. Using OEM ensures proper fuel corrections and reliable operation.
