They can be used, but they are designed mainly for high-load or performance-focused builds. For stock engines, Taiho or ACL Duraglide are the better choice.
When should valve stem seals be replaced?
Typically when you notice blue smoke on start-up, increased oil consumption or after long-term use. This is a common issue in older D-series engines.
Do I need ARP head studs for a B16A1 build?
Not for stock power levels. They are recommended for engines with higher rev limits, increased compression or performance camshafts.
When should the valve cover gasket be replaced?
As soon as you notice oil leaks around the edges of the cylinder head — a typical failure point in D-series engines.
