Thermal intake manifold gasket Honda S2000 17105-PCX-004

Thermal insulating gasket for the intake manifold for Honda S2000, made of PTFE (Teflon). It replaces the original Honda OEM gasket with part number 17105-PCX-004 and reduces heat transfer from the cylinder head to the intake manifold and the intake air.

Construction and material – PTFE (Teflon)

  • Material: PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene – Teflon)
  • Type: thermal gasket for the intake manifold
  • Thickness: approx. 3 mm
  • Possibility of multiple installation* – with correct use

*Reinstallation is possible if the mating surfaces are flat and clean, and the gasket has not been mechanically damaged.

Why is it worth using a thermal gasket in a Honda S2000?

  • Reduces heating of the intake manifold during hard driving and on track
  • Improves the stability of intake air temperature compared to the stock paper gasket
  • Supports the potential of intake modifications and ECU tuning
  • Chemically resistant to fuel, oil and typical workshop fluids
  • Designed to work at high temperatures in heavily loaded F20C / F22C engines

Key properties of PTFE material

  • Very high chemical resistance to fuels, oils and solvents
  • Thermal resistance up to approx. +260 °C in continuous operation
  • Short-term temperature limit up to approx. +300 °C
  • Non-melting, self-extinguishing material, very difficult to ignite (according to UL94)
  • Very low thermal conductivity – one of the lowest among engineering plastics

Application – Honda S2000

The 17105-PCX-004 thermal intake manifold gasket fits:

  • Honda S2000 1999–2009 – engines F20C / F22C

If you are looking for a thermal intake manifold gasket for Honda S2000 or a Teflon intake manifold gasket for F20C/F22C engines, this product is the correct replacement for the OEM gasket 17105-PCX-004.

Installation – practical tips

  • Before installation, thoroughly clean the cylinder head and intake manifold surfaces from old gasket residue
  • Check that the manifold is not warped – if necessary, have the surface skimmed/leveled
  • Use the factory torque specs for the intake manifold bolts according to the Honda workshop manual
  • After assembling the system, start the engine and check the intake for leaks at idle and under load

FAQ – thermal gasket Honda S2000 17105-PCX-004

Does the gasket replace the original Honda part?

Yes, the thermal gasket replaces the factory intake manifold gasket Honda OEM with part number 17105-PCX-004.

Is it suitable for a daily driven car?

Yes. The thermal gasket works well both in a stock Honda S2000 used every day and in modified cars, where reducing intake temperature becomes even more important.

Do I need to use additional sealant during installation?

Usually there is no need, as long as the head and manifold surfaces are flat and clean. With minor imperfections you can use a thin layer of a suitable high-temperature sealant, in line with good workshop practice.

Is the thermal gasket reusable?

PTFE allows for multiple installations if the gasket is not mechanically damaged and the mating surfaces are prepared correctly. In heavily modified engines or cars used in motorsport many tuners prefer a new gasket at each rebuild or when the manifold is removed.
